Partridge fly tying days, March 9th/10th 2013

I thank you Chris for telling me about the pinch and loop technique which has saved me from repeated attempts to lock in materials and also of course for tips on dubbing. I can actually get mine to stay on the thread now. All of this of course alongside of the beautiful flies. We had a competition in our branch of fly dressers,  judged by Charles Jardine last Tuesday. He was demonstrating fly tying as our speaker. We had to prepare two red tags. Believe it or not I won! there were 9 entries so I was thrilled. I really did learn a huge amount fron that day and hope to be able to attend more like it.

Best wishes

Chris, thanks for last night I'm sure we all enjoyed it - you always learn something
(Doug Skins)
I was at the North Kent Fly Dressers Guild meeting in Swanley last Tuesday, where you did a superb evening of tying. I learnt more in those few hours, than anything I've learnt in the two years I've been reading books and magazines on the subject. Thank you for that. (Paul Heseltine)

"Thanks for the flies, went fishing today and caught 3 fish on one of your Cormorants,3lb 10oz, 3lb 8 oz and a 3lb, all good fighting fish, the fly is as good as it was before I used it, brilliant. I caught 2 more smaller fish on a yellow cats whisker and again no damage to the fly "(Paul Voller Feb 2011)
